Raven Darkholme despises homo-sapiens. When she was a younger, she was taunted and threatened by school kids for her special gifts; that of a meta-morph. "It's people like you who made me afraid to go to school as a child." she once said.

Later in life, Raven met Erik Lensherr (Magneto). She agreed with his thoughts on homo sapiens, and joined his following. She was his most-trusted companion.

Mystique's gifts allowed her to take on the shape and form of any person she wishes.

Mystique was given the mutant "cure" by a stationed guard on a motorized mutant containment facility. Her where-abouts are currently unknown.
