*Patrick Stewart talks X3! Patrick Stewart had a radio interview with BBC Radio! The actor said that Fox is telling him they hope for production on X3 to start in June or July of this year, though there's chances of a push back. "It will probably be a little bit later than that, but they are holding to their release date for the film, which will be summer of 2006. So, we gotta start shooting quite soon, because films like 'X-Men' are as complicated in their post-production as they are during production." XMF earlier posted a possible scoop about the X3 script being sent out to the X-Men actors, which seems to have had some truth to it. "A script is almost finished and I expect to have it in my hands any day now. I've been given an idea of the storyline".
Robert has sent XMF many interesting news bits regarding X3! Storm in the X3 script? McKellan returning? X3 book publisher! Director Alex Proyas on why he WON'T do X3, and more! Also, he had the chance to talk to a person who was heavily involved during X2's production. Due to certain issues, we will not be revealing the name of the person talked to.
*Storm in the X3 script? Thats what I hear. Everyone in Vancouver is eager to for Fox to get this thing rolling in June, even though nothing has yet been confirmed. Note: This is by what he's heard. An Interesting bit is that he says Storm has a more substantial (doesn't mean bigger) role. Halle (rightfully) complained about that in the previous films. Will Halle return? He's not sure.
*Sir Ian McKellan planning to come back? McKellan talked to the BBC about his future plans. One of the comments he made seems to possibly be about X3:
McKellen is currently taking a six month sabbatical from acting, allowing him to concentrate on his role as a cultural ambassador for London's 2012 Olympic bid. "I'll do a couple of films towards the end of the year." said the actor. Do one of those "couple of films" involve X3? Here's hoping!
*Alex Proyas on why he WON'T direct X3: "I wouldn't be interested in X-MEN because it's a sequel - worse still the 3rd in a series that another director has already stamped with his style - and because I wouldn't work with Fox under the current regime. When Tom Rothman leaves or is fired I might change my mind, as I do actually have a few friends at that studio." Source.
*Sony doing VFX? Are Sony Imageworks doing the visual effects? This is the rumor I heard from someone who works in the visual effects business. Is it possible that they are prepping the teaser? Before X2 started production they made a promo for that.
"...Funnily enough a source of ours has told us that Sony are likely to be working on X-Men 3! They are already prepping Ghost Rider, Spider-Man 3, Monster House, Zathura and Chronicles of Narnia. We've tried to confirm this X-Men 3 rumor with Sony, but alas they were not available for comment." Source: Superman-V.com
*Yale Seeks Interns: According to the USC site, Marvel Films is seeking an intern from one of the school's students. Projects that the future intern will possibly work on include X-MEN 3! Enroll now if you want that spot, lol.
*X-MEN 3 Books: HarperCollins will create movie tie-in books for several upcoming Marvel feature film events including this summer's FANTASTIC FOUR, X-MEN 3 (May 2006 theatrical release) and SPIDER-MAN 3 (May 2007 theatrical release). Products will target children ages 5-12 and will include junior novelizations, picture story books, chapter books and manga story books in addition to coloring and activity titles.
*Halle Berry plays Egyptian Queen: Monster's Ball director Marc Forster and star Halle Berry are planning to reteam on the story of Egyptian queen Nefertiti, the wife of the great Pharaoh Akhenaten who achieved status similar to that of her husband. Production Weekly says a script is currently being commissioned with shooting scheduled to begin by early 2006. It is unknown if Halle Berry will be returning as Storm in X-MEN 3.
