For X3, deals are still being set in stone for the returning cast of X2 (see the
cast/crew/plot page for updated status), but 20th Century Fox is going ahead
with their search to find actors for some new characters in the third X-MEN film!
XMF has been told that the studio plans to start their search later this week for
the Cajun, card-throwing mutant known as GAMBIT, and for the mutant
scientist known as BEAST!
We have no details on what the casting directors are looking for, and have no
info for those interested in possibly trying out for the roles. It appears that the
studio is going for actors with more experience for these two roles, specifically.
What we do know, is that whomever does get the role of Beast, will have to go
through make-up tests to get the look of the character in the movie just right.
We are being told that the character will NOT be CGI, 100%. The actor for
Beast will have to undergo prosthetics. Some of the same appliances used for
the characters of Mystique and Nightcrawler, will be applied to Beast. Will he
have skin? Blue fur? Gray fur? It's still being worked out. Our guess (just an
assumption), is that different versions will be tried out, until they achieve the
look they want.
Toad and Sabretooth will NOT be returning. They are nowhere to be found, and
we have been told to expect a "new member in the Brotherhood." Does this
mean Pyro, or someone else? We're not sure. Sneaky!
